Cream Cheese Brownie Bars

Cream Cheese Brownie

There is something special about chocolate and cream cheese together.  Try this Cream Cheese Brownie Bar recipe using our European Fudge Brownie Mix. With the decadent dark chocolate flavor of our mix, this recipe will taste just like you ordered dessert from a fine dining restaurant. 


1 package of Sweet Day Gourmet's European Fudge Brownie Mix  
(prepared with 2 eggs and 1 stick melted butter)

Cream Cheese Layer:
8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1large egg

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Prepare brownie mix as directed in the package using an 8x8 pan 

Remove 1/2 cup of the brownie batter and set it aside.

Spread the remainder of the brownie batter evenly onto the bottom of the prepared pan.

In a medium size bowl, beat the cream cheese just until smooth. Add the sugar, vanilla, and egg and process just until its creamy and smooth.

Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the brownie layer. Spoon approximately 16 small dollops (4 rows with 4 dollops of brownie batter in each row) of the reserved brownie batter evenly on top of the cream cheese filling. Swirl with a knife - back and forth through the two batters until you have a marble effect.

Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until the brownies are set and the cream cheese is just beginning to brown - Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool completely.

Cover and refrigerate the brownies until they are firm enough to cut into squares. Makes about 12 squares
