When formulating a recipe, our goal is to be sure that you are amazed by the unique, high quality flavors and the ease of effort it takes to create bakery-quality products. We want your friends and family to be shocked to find out that you've used a box mix. 

If you’ve made a trip to the grocery store lately, you’ve probably noticed any number of varieties to choose from, whether its peanut butter, tooth paste, soda pop or even toilet paper!  The vast array of choices can be overwhelming. The same goes for Cocoa powder and chocolate.  But never-ending choices don't always translate into quality choices. 

After months of research and our own taste-testing, we have chosen to forego the store bought American cocoas for the more sophisticated imported flavors of Europe, including French Valrhona and Cacao-Barry as well as Belgian Callebaut.  These European cocoa powders and chocolates derive their rich, dark appearance and smooth flavors from cocoa beans grown in West Africa, versus the South American cocoa beans used by most U.S. producers.  In fact, in December of 2012, Valrhona was listed as one of the 10 best chocolatiers in the world by National Geographic magazine.  As the old adage goes, “There’s no substitute for quality”; And that’s a phrase that Sweet Day Gourmet is committed to.
