What sets apart an average dessert from a gourmet masterpiece?  By making a few changes to your ingredients, technique and kitchen tools, you can turn an average recipe into an unforgettable gourmet experience.  It may not be as hard as you think.

Here are a few simple suggestions:

Use Higher Quality Ingredients

  • Substitute your regular eggs for Organic Eggs
  • Substitute your regular butter for French Butter
  • Substitute your chocolate & cocoa for European Chocolate & Cocoa
  • Use Premium Flour (make sure it's the right type of flour too)
  • Use Sea Salt
  • Use pure, fresh ingredients whenever possible

Tweak Your Technique

  • Be sure to pre-heat your oven before baking your dessert
  • Use an oven timer 
  • Make sure your measurements are exact - if you are weighing your ingredients, remember to tare your scale
  • Take your time
  • Follow the recipe 
  • Use a no stick baking spray like PAM to grease your pans
  • Learn what different baking terms mean in a recipe
  • Add a garnish to the plate before serving
Use Better Kitchen Tools
  • Use stainless steal bowls to reduce static
  • Use good pots & pans
  • Use stainless steal or glass measuring cups
  • Invest in a KitchenAid mixer if you can
  • Use new baking tools such as spatulas, cutting boards - sharp knives, etc.
  • Make sure you have an accurate scale
