Making Great Christmas Cookies

Every year we make Christmas Cookies for our friends and family.  Here are a few tips that we thought you may like to consider for making the best cookies.They're basic, but it's always nice to have little reminders.

1. Read The Recipe Completely & Carefully 
Be sure you have all the ingredients and that you understand the recipe. Remember Baking demands accuracy. Measure everything and don’t make substitutions. Take your time, and follow the instructions.

2. Use Good Bowls, Pans & Utensils
Assemble your bowls, pans, and utensils that you need before you begin. Use standard measuring cups and spoons.

3. Use The Proper Sized Pans
Use the type and size of the pan that a is specified. Changing the pan size may alter the baking temperature and time. Prepare the pan carefully according to the recipe. Place pans near the center of the oven. Keep about 2 inches between cookies on the cookie sheet

4. Use High-Quality Ingredients
You can't expect high quality cookies using poor quality ingredients. Check expiration dates of all your ingredients. Do Not substitute flour types or sugar types. Different types of flour and sugar behave differently in recipes.

5. Make Sure The Temperature Of The Ingredients Are Correct
For example - eggs typically should be room temperature.

6. Always Preheat Your Oven
When you bake your cookies, the oven should begin at the temperature the recipe calls for.

7. Cool Cookies On A Wire Rack
Remove the cookies from the pan immediately after taking them out of the oven, and let them cool on a wire rack - unless the recipe states otherwise.
