Crème Brûlée Mixes - Instructions

Crème Brûlée Mixes - Instructions
Makes four 4oz ramekins or six 2.5 oz broiling cups (included)
You will need:
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine creme brulee mix and half of the whole milk. Stir until no lumps remain
  2. Add remaining milk and heavy cream, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently
  3. Pour into four 4oz ramekins or six broiling cups, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours
  4. After refrigeration, pour a small amount of sugar on top of each ramekin.  Using a chef’s torch*, carefully caramelize the sugar until golden brown
*If you do not own a chef’s torch, you may place the ramekins under a broiler to caramelize the sugar. If using this method, be sure the ramekins are as close as possible to the broiler’s flame, and allow adequate cooling time before serving
You can use 2 cups of half & half instead of the whole milk and heavy cream.
